I began drawing at an early age, and especially loved drawing animals. At age 11, I began taking drawing lessons from Linda Fisher. She was not only a brilliant artist, but a brilliant teacher, and I owe my entire artistic foundation to her.
After graduating high school, I pursued other interests in Animal Science and Human Nutrition. Ultimately, I decided on a career in the arts. I graduated in 2015 with a Fine Arts Degree - Drawing and Painting with a minor in Marketing from The Ohio State University.
My path wasn't straight and narrow. It has been full of twists, turns, opportunities, and setbacks. Often times I felt as if I was just going in circles. I didn't always like myself very much, but today I am forever grateful for every challenge and internal struggle I have faced. It has not only shaped me, but also my art.
My work today is a product of this self-criticism, self-reflection, and self-transformation. As a runner, rock climber, and nature-lover, I have also been greatly inspired by the outdoors, and all of the beauty that Mother Earth has to offer - beauty that brought me joy and peace and filled my heart with gratitude, even in the darkest of times.
